Training Materials on TeVA and the Digital Library of Tennessee

June 1, 2022

In the fifth "Lunch and TEL" webinar, we took a closer look at two wonderful places to find primary sources in TEL: TeVA (the Tennessee Virtual Archive) and the Digital Library of Tennessee. The Digital Library of Tennessee is a service hub of the Digital Public Library of America, and contains content from libraries, archives, museams, and cultural heritage institutions from across the state. TeVA is a project of the Tenenssee State Library and Archives and contains digital scans of items in the collection. Both resources feature tens of thousands of photos, newspapers, maps, videos, and more.

In case you missed this webinar, here is a recording. Here is a slide deck with speaker notes. Feel free to use or modify this for your own trainings on TEL4U!

Here is a scavenger hunt with questions meant to help your students explore the databases in TEL4U.

There are five weeks of pre-made social media posts and suggested captions about TEL4U. Feel free to use these on your own account!

All of these supplemental materials, including those from previous Lunch and TEL webinars, can be found here.
